Hello everyone! One of the top questions I've been getting in the last few weeks is "How does this all work?" Many of you have probably been to physical therapy before, and so the idea of bringing that big gym and everything in it to you can be confusing. "How in the world is she going to do it?" That's why I wanted to create this video, so that you can better visualize how this can fit in and work for your life.
One of the biggest lessons I learned during COVID-19, was less is more and to return back to the basics. I really didn't need all of the fancy machines and the newest PT gadgets to be able to help my patients get better. It made me really wonder, "What are my basics?" "What are the absolute essentials I need to get this patient better?" Here's what I realized were my "musts" or my essentials in helping my patients:
- Trigger point dry needling: If you've worked with me before, you know that I truly believe this is the best "reset" in our toolbox. The research shows it, I've seen it through years of clinical experience, and patients love it!
- IASTM: there are a million different ways & tools to perform instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, but this is my absolute go-to with tight and painful muscles, tendons and ligaments
- Exercise bands: Exercise bands and loops are an AMAZING way of progressing an exercise program and there is tremendous versatility with them. We even provide our patients with a complementary exercise Theraloop set with their exercise plan!
- One-on-one time with my patient. This is so crucial in being able to understand your goals, needs and concerns to best tailor a treatment plan that is right for you. There is nothing more valuable than hands-on, one-on-one time with my patients!
If you are a busy mom on-the-go, or slammed with a crazy work schedule, or maybe you just don't want to go into a busy clinic during COVID-19, our physical therapy services are perfect for you!
